New PCR kit for the detection and identification of all beer spoiler bacteria and yeasts in one test
PIKA Weihenstephan has launched its 4everyone Detection Kit BY Beer Spoiling Bacteria & Yeasts Typing to prevent beer spoilage and to maintain overall product quality. The innovative new PCR detection kit for real-time PCR is the first to allow the quantitative detection and identification of all beer spoiling bacteria and yeast species together in one single test. It is efficient and cost-saving, as well as outstandingly robust and simple to use.
The kit identifies the real beer spoiling bacteria species of Lactobacillus and Pediococcus, the anaerobic beer spoiling bacteria Megasphaera and Pectinatus species as well as the superattenuating yeasts Dekkera (Brettanomyces) and Saccharomyces cerevisiae var. diastaticus.
New PCR kit Beer Spoiler Typing compatible with most real-time PCR thermocyclers
The new 4everyone Detection Kit BY Typing can be used with real-time PCR thermocycler instruments from nearly all manufacturers. PIKA recommends the QuantStudio® from Thermo Fisher. Besides, PIKA 4everyone Detection Kits can also be used as a direct replacement for Pall’s discontinued GeneDisc® Rapid Microbiology System. The system is very similar to GeneDisc® due to a previous collaboration between the two companies.
Available as standard- and multipack
All kits come with breakable 96 well PCR plates 200 µl, clear, using a strip of 8 PCR tubes per test. Depending on package size, one 4everyone Detection Kit BY Typing contains sufficient reagents for 12 or for 96 samples with 8 reactions each. The kit is intended for microtiter plate format 200 µL PCR thermocyclers. Kits include all buffers and reagents necessary for DNA extraction and PCR together with PCR tubes, containing specific primers and probes aliquoted in a dried format. 4everyone Detection Kits are extremely temperature stable and are shipped at ambient temperature. Storage at 2-8 °C upon arrival is recommended.
